Our definition of Social and Solidarity Entrepreneurship
At ComDev Africa, the primary purpose of the entrepreneur is to contribute to the resolution of one of the SDGs. There are several possibilities: - The main activity of the company has a direct social and/or environmental impact: Kitambaa allows women to access washable sanitary napkins. - The way in which the main activity of the company is carried out has a social and/or environmental impact: Dakane Agro Cosmo transforms local products by training and employing deaf and dumb people. - The main activity of the company responds to the specific need of a vulnerable target: Video Positive creates communication content in local language To raise awareness and prevent vulnerable populations from health risks. - Having a viable economic model means that the company is able to generate income through its activity, which allows it to cover all its expenses and be financially autonomous.
